Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Phew, I was having my blood taken and they had a commercial radio station on that was playing a Christmas record every third song or so. They had trouble getting any blood out of me so I was in definite peril but I escaped with only hearing "Do They Know It's Christmas?"

Am OK at the moment. Wetherspoons don't have music on. Going into Asda later. That might be risky! 🤪🤣

I survived day 6. The only shops I plan to visit today are the local Sainsbury's and an art shop - I don't think either of those play music.

(I've not heard DTKIC at all this year - or The Power Of Love (no, not that one - or that one either) )

Playing with fire this morning. Ken Bruce on the wireless since 0930, but it's only on in the kitchen so I am missing about 30% of the tunes whilst I go about my day....

tick, tock.... :)

Somehow survived yesterday with two beyond close calls.

At a trampoline place for my kids football teams Christmas party. Chrimbo songs on the whole time but it was some Rnb version of Last Christmas that was on the playlist they had...

Then we got in the car and Last Christmas was on Radio X as I turned car on but straight away I recognized James Dean Bradfield's voice and another big sigh of relief.

Lots of Christmas stuff planned this weekend so no way I'm still surviving by Monday.

It looks like the toilet music doesn't contain any Wham, so that's good news. I don't have many plans for today, I'm just hoping the chippy this evening hasn't got a radio on...

In the office. Music is sometimes playing in reception which makes going to the loo or the water cooler a lottery (it's on a balcony above reception) but all seems quiet today so far.

GOOGLE SHEET HERE:

Sheet for 2024 is on the first tab; you update your own entry. As with previous years, we're also tracking the number of repeated 'hits' for those who are out before the end (if you want to).

Who's up for the challenge then? whamageddon.com

"The 1st Rule
The objective is to go as long as possible without hearing WHAM's Christmas classic; "Last Christmas".

The 2nd Rule
The game starts on December 1st, and finishes at the end of December 24th.
Use your local timezone, if you'd like.

The 3rd Rule
Only the original version applies.

The 4th Rule
You're out as soon as you recognise the song.

Player vs Player?
While we can't stop you from deliberately sending your friends to Whamhalla, the intention is that this is a survival game. Not a Battle Royale. So ... don't be a dick, okay?"
