Cheers RWR. Tough or stupid? Shanski, spicey and Ju1ia were the real heroes - they had all the burden and the anxiety, I was just the runner. Funny how I never really "got it" about the significance of the goblet until my time came. Boy, that is the most cherished of all my possessions now.

tough, for sure- you did no lasting damage, tbf you mightve done but same couldve been said on my first attempt....we both ended up in hospital, albeit i was couple days later

2011, basically didn't run a step after Glencoe, was in 50 shades of pain and couldnt bend ankles. I had comedy cartoon bumps on front of both, not so funny at time  not bending ankles going up and down highest part of course isnt helpful i have to say

Gutsiest performance I have ever seen. Full compartment syndrome and what must have been agonising, searing pain, for 4.5 hours march on the toughest hilly, rocky terrain. And never a thought htat she wouldn't finish.
Race doctor Chris didn't even think of arguing with her about it. Awesome. Absolutely inpiring. :-)G

wasnt compartment syndrome in the end, thankfully. i'd probably have lost a foot otherwise Doctor Chris and consulatant thought it was though hence the stay in hospital, better safe than sorry n all that

My horse is doing well. We did 25 Sat morning then got a text in the pm to say he went out for another 6 "just to see"! :-)G
