What's up Boab? Were you supporting and now can't? Shame?
Team Tindall - KJTindall is the man. HappyG supporting Fri to Sun. Carnethy runner pal sharing run support from Sat lunch (Tyndrum) to Sun. 2 school buddies potentially coming along to cheer. Rossy from our club is doing it too. And a non-Fetchie girl as well. Rossy is international level ultra. Tindall and the other one are pretty bliddy good too. We could have 3 out of 3 under 24 hours (or under 23 hours or... ?) !!
Go Team Tindall!
Really looking forward to seeing everyone - other support crews at all the points, I love how we leap frog each other and all help out etc. And all you superhero runners, even if we don't see you all as Saturday draws on, we'll see you all (all - ALL!) getting your goblets on Sunday. Go All WHW Superhere Runners!! G

Team Leader RWR - sounds a formidable team and a fantastic job you're doing. Hopefully I won't see you on course, if you know what I mean. Will defo see you for beers afterwards though. Isn't Loon Dod not part of the Stonehaven All Star Sweepers too?
HappyG, I remember a race blog story about problems with a support runner I read a number of years back - I think it was from either Tim D or John K. Anyway, whichever one of them it was, they were running the WHWR and they had a support runner from their local running club with them in the latter stages. Well, the support runner didn't know the route, it was dark, high up and exposed, and he struggled for fitness and couldn't keep up on the Lairig Mor. Our runner had to decide whether to push on and leave him high up in the middle of nowhere, or to slow down, stick with him and guide him to safety. Our chap chose the latter, from memory, and was a bit frustrated as a result. A sad but really interesting story I thought.
I'm sure that wouldn't happen to me, as I and most runners will slow down quite markedly in the latter stages. An interesting dilemma though, especially if the support guy doesn't know the route and it's in the dark of night... I would be tempted to run off and leave him though! Isn't the ability to navigate the course part of the pre-requisites?

What are you saying young Minty man?! Are you saying I can't keep up with my runner?! I wave my private parts at your aunty! 1. I kept up with (or just ahead of, opening gates, as I recall) a re-invigorated _andy doing 8 min/mile on Lairig Mor (nearly killed me!) 2. I know the route pretty well - this will be my 5th year of doing the Lairig Mor as support runner. More than I've run it for myself, actually! 3. Though I nearly fell asleep on one of my runners (sorry santa!) and had to be kept awake/stopped from falling off the drop at the left/west side, I don't think I held that runner up in anyway.
So, even tho Fri-Sun is a long shift, I am confident in supporting KJTindall to a brilliant finish. Of course, if he sprints off at 7 min/mile, he's on his own! G

ha ha, not at all HappyG - you pass the test on all counts - speed, long distance running and course knowledge. Just thought - as a support runner this year - you'd find it a funny story!

LorraineS - great to see you're in the relay - you'll be pleasantly surprised how quickly you run compared with the 95 milers. I think you've got the nicest leg, if I've got my maths right. from Glencoe over the Devil's Staircase and on to Kinlochleven?

LorraineS has done sterling support running from Glencoe to bottom of Devil's staircase in the past, which I can vouch for. As well as runner's goodies handily presented in a My Little Pony lunch box, which was nice.
I thought you said, "You've got the nicest legs..." which I also thought was a lovely thing to say Minty!
