Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Nice. Speaking of canals, is anyone doing the Kennet and Avon canal race? It is the sister race of GUCR and goes from Bristol to London and is also 145 miles. I only found out about it this week

Yep - I'm doing K&ACR. You might still be able to get a place if you want one...

Where does it finish? I couldn't tell from the website apart from London obviously. I grew up next to the K&A in Thatcham, went to uni in Bristol and now work in London so it would be the perfect race

It finishes at Paddington. It follows the Thames from Reading to Eton, then the route branches north to pick up the Slough arm of the Grand Union Canal - which is then followed all the way into Paddington. There's a Facebook group for it (https://www.facebook.com/groups/318850455171449/) which has got the route maps.

Yep, top result for Marigold, he paced it well and was outside the top-100 through the opening check, just picked everyone off in front of him. Top European finish and third M40.

^ that's great pacing discipline to not chase at the start. Well done Marigold.
