It's very hilly in places, but predominantly off-road. I'm considering going for the marathon again.

Meeting up with the shorter races as you move through the course keeps it fun, and generates a good atmosphere. And it's all for a good cause to boot...

I was thinking about 20-30 secs a mile to get a decent time but also to still enjoy it (apart from the inevitable painful end).
mbln May 2017 7:40pm, 11 May 2017 883 posts	Quote Pin mbln That seems pretty ambitious There is plenty of runnable terrain, but it varies from road, to well made trail, to singletrack across fields to dodging the tourists around the cathedral near the finish. And if memory serves, at one point you follow a string through a wood... I'd just aim to make good progress, and see what time falls out at the end. I was probably in 3:40 road marathon shape when I happily came away with 4:40
