It's been a pretty good month overall. Great banter with the OA Tuesday Crew (with whom I am also beginning to see some gains). Some definite feelings that Greg LeMond was right when he said "it doesn't get easier, you just get faster" and this is borne out on strava segments where I'm getting PBs nearly every week at the moment. I haven't managed to lose much weight, so that's a definite target for November, but I've taken up Yoga and I've just finished a training plan for weights-based S&C which will take me through to Christmas.
And tomorrow I'm going swimming!!
Fingers crossed

TRO Saracen
S 6hrs/10%/11.4mls B 36hrs/58%/584mls R 17hrs/26%/79mls XT 4hrs/6% Total 63 hours.
Couple of easy weeks, couple of weeks back training. Scratchy first week but feeling back in the slot now.
Really excited to see where I can get to this Winter. I want to get to Cat A. Simple target; probably a couple of months to lift FTP and lower KG ( ) then a focussed campaign of races to get the numbers. So focussed on Cat A that I'm not too bothered about losing swimming for a couple of months: more bike time.
(Panic time will be no swimming Jan-Mar).
Man I'm excited!
Wooooo....

Numbers:
90hours of total training – expected more but had forgotten that the last hill climb was on the 25th
16 hours of running – 103 miles – the malaise continues but I am not unhappy just no desire to do that much
7 hours of Yoga – Learning Tree has really brought focus to my Yoga
67 hours – out towards 1200 miles – hill climbing saw my hours drop away as I needed recovery between races.
Weight 71.4kgs – this was for the 25th of October, I had been more disciplined through HC season and slowly dropped my weight, reality is still too heavy and 2kgs heavier than when I did HC in 2018 after my crash.
Rest Days - 0
Hill Climbs - 7 best result 4th V50(17th overall) at BMCR Vets Nationals
DVD extras - none, not a single purchase of anything at all
Looking forward to seeing how TRO does and hopefully being responsible for some of the improvement. I'm back at work now so no idea what the next little while holds but my end of season break finishes next Tuesday and I know what I want next year so there will be a lot of cycling. Tuesday will be my key effort but will also be looking for speed endurance with some longer races at the weekend.
CX looks very unlikely and I am not sure if I am bothered or not.
ps. I am not 71.4kgs now :¬) (TRO I will weigh in next Tuesday morning and put my weight up)

Well I ran for longer, though not further, than TRO and Gobi, which is unusual. Sadly I did bog all else apart from walking and gardening.

MA. Leg day shred done. Jolly good.
skipped Zwifting last night for family time - will only see baby niece peeping out of a pram well wrapped up for the next...who knows? Pah! Zwifting of course tonight (league, not pain gang) and quite a lot over the next month.

Morning All I’ve had my porridge* so everything’s possible. No swim because it’s bike day. Swim recovery tomorrow.
* not really, more like milky hot oats breakfast with spiced chocolate and banana. Porridge is only porridge if it’s been made with peaty water and salt evaporated from the bitter tears of oppression, as any Good Scot knows.
ON, ON!! ~ toots horn ~
