Zwifting shortly. I appear to be part of a club controversy. A month climbing and distance challenge was set up, including various sporting activities, one of which is virtual rides. The appearance of virtual riders in the top 10* appears to have caused upset and there are mutters about fake and should be excluded from the challenge. My opinion is that they shouldn't have included it in the first place in that case. *cough* I may be currently 2nd and 1st respectively
Top for distance, 2nd for climbing. Pointed out that my legs definitely don't feel it was virtual/fake but met with harumphing. Some people have supported me (and I'm not the only one with virtual rides). Have to see if the 'real' riders get some more climbing done in the next few days.
MsG no, not any more. In my early days had real problems with the odd panic attack even on calm, benign days. Just kept at, reached tolerance and the fear mostly went away.
Real breakthrough was doing a bet with a mate: to swim in the sea twice a month, at least 20 mins/half a mile through the winter.
We got to November (sea temp 8.5 deg) non wetsuit and completed January (sea temp 2 deg) with wetsuit. Canned it after the 31 Jan swim as we both had symptoms of hypothermia.
There were some absolutely horrific swims amongst that lot; never really felt fear or even trepidation since. In fact really enjoy the rough ones like today.
MsG - I got out the water at Swashbuckler after a panic attack at the start, when everyone was gone I got back in. Race over obviously as I was hours behind everyone. One does not swim :¬)
