GEDS, TF & CRK - IBS.
Attempt two of the day got me into the pool with the evening crew. There was much... rejoicing.

CC: re the vegan diet - feedback pretty good so far, and really glad to be giving it a try It's been interesting and surprising. I'm under 70kg at the moment and getting pretty lean although not consciously 'eating less'. There have been less hunger pangs than my old diet and no yearnings for the 'missing' food types other than the two times I have eaten out.
One of the really good (surprising) things is it takes out some of the temptations: having committed I know I can't eat chocolate etc, so when snacking there is no 'battle 'shall I shan't I' I simply go for the vegan stuff - usually nuts or dried fruit. That is easier than being continually tempted and having to say no.
Energy levels seem ok and I have sustained my usual heavy training load. I am supplementing with vegan protein powder and vitamins.
Real decision point comes in 2-3 weeks when I hit my next 'test week' as I will see whether I have improved over the period. However, unless things go horribly in test week I am definitely going to extend the experiment to the end of March.
After that I will end the pure Vegan diet but am definitely going to keep some things about it - not really sure what yet. Possibly Vegan midweek/non vegan at weekends, or allow just a few non vegan things such as real greek yoghurt, lean chicken.

That's a really interesting post TRO - thanks for sharing.
You not finding the nuts causing weight gain? MFP suggests they are monstrously calorific.

No, the nuts aren't. I'm probably getting less of those 'need snack' urges than under the old diet and nuts seem pretty good at filling the gap - ie the calories from nuts do a better job of controlling hunger than chocolate.
I'm crapping like a trooper though...:-)

I tried switching from chocolate to nuts and it worked until I noticed how many calories MFP claimed I was racking up. Chunky KitKat 280 kcal, give or take. 50g of nuts 326. And 50g of nuts is 326.
Okay, I stand corrected. I've just weighed myself 50g of almonds, brazils and cashews (ABC and all that) and there's more there than I feared. Thank you.
I get 'rebound hunger' from chocolate too - if I eat a Wispa I immediately crave another one.

Unlike TRO I am not a vegan but i have lost 2kgs this month and am the lightest I have been since 0ct 2016. Eating normally just less all round.
Progressive run today ramped until he hit top of z3 held and then slowly rolled off speed staying in Z3 for quite a while.
