Well, Greppers old chap... As I sat scoffing my Stilton and quaffing Port at Christmas, my mind wandered to new challenges for the new year. One of my running club members had just completed a run every day in 2017, which had impressed me greatly. In 10 years of being "a runner" I'd never run more than 5 consecutive days. I thought I'd try running every day in January to see how long I could go without ending up in the knackers yard. I do dry January every year, and always find it gets easier and easier as the month goes on, in fact, when I've had a Spring marathon, I've usually stayed on the wagon until after race day. I was hoping that, if I didn't go mental with my pace or mileage, the streaking would be the same. So far, so good.
My best January mileage is 75, which I will pass easily. My best ever mileage month is 95, which I hope to pass. In fact, I've got a cunning plan to sneak into 3 figures, watch this space!!!!
No idea what the plan is come Feb 1st, but I am very much enjoying the whole experience, so who knows.

As people will have realised if they’ve read my blog I’m having to reluctantly withdraw from the month challenge.

I can’t run or cycle for now. Swimming to fill the gap is unrealistic since I get an allergic reaction every time I use the pool that takes at least 24 hours to clear.

I could, but to me it doesn’t count. If it did I’d include meditation and be sorted.

Glenn 33,250 is fair enough - it's what works for you. The yoga class I do is closer to Headspace than it is to parkrun, certainly.
