you appear to be the lucky one then PoD... plenty of people on forums have issues with them, its the first few mins of high readings appears to be the main issue.

Sue gets that - she stuffs her whole strap under the tap before wearing. I've just been a 'lick the shiny bits' man.

Garmin HR straps are creations from the Devil's own bottom. The old strap - like running with a thick rope round your chest, but the only one that worked. The new 'Premium' strap. A piece of filth - used to go berserk half the time. Think it was an issue with certain types of clothing (ergo sportwear ffs) creating static which interfered with the signal. Dumped this and went back to the old strap. The updated 'Premium' strap. They sorted the issue above, but when I went to change batteries the completely unsuitable micro (glasses size) screw to open the compartment had seized. had to buy a new one. |

If you read the FAQ for the Garmin strap, certainly the old Premium one, it tells you that you should wear cotton and not synthetics.

Yep, the brutal choice was a heart rate reading but no nipples, or nipples but no heart rate readings. Brilliant.

Premium works fine for me but non synthetic tops advice is pretty rubbish given most runners will be wearing something like that. I thought that was that was part of the point of the third contact point. I use a HH warm top in the winter which has some wool so might be why I'm fine. |
