Isn't there a innov8 shop in Bakewell now? I get my shoes at the local place in Matlock as I like a mix of stuff and we get a club discount.
Very swish and absolutely fine if you want to pay top dollar for their latest models with no ability to compare with anything else. You're far better off sticking to Matlock or going to Derby Runner at Spondon which is even better. I give the Innov8 shop 24 months, too much good competition around the edge of the Peak District that offer far better value.

I've tried to like it as they support all the local races and stuff and seem nice peeps, but they just never have what I need. Magpie has got good stuff from them though. 😔

So good to hear Derby Runner is still going. Back when we had to go to shops to buy kit I used to drive over there from Warwick as it was the only decent running shop in the Midlands (Cov Runner was once on a par, but went downhill rapidly).

Bourne Sports in Stoke used to be a half-decent running shop. Don't even know if they are still in business.

More snow on the road past my house in Settle, perhaps it all blew off the tops
Lovely day to be up there though.

That's right, the summit plateau and exposed outcrops were pretty much scoured by the wind. Quite deep in place on the way up, the traverse round the eastern side was completely stacked out with snow and a bit dodgy.

We (Kinky and I) had a great chat with a chap at the inov8 stand today at The Running Show - the direction they are moving in really makes sense with their shoes; you just have to hope your feet type for one of three ‘upper’ option sizing they’ll have (precision, standard or wide) and then essentially the sole will change on the shoe dependent on what you’re running on. Currently they have 4mm drop and 6mm drop shoes with 0mm coming later in the year.
We both tried on the new Mud Talons (the other version to Mud Talon Speed) and also the new Trailfly too - there’s the normal version and then a speed version of those coming out too. The staff on the stall were excellent and really gave their time to talk through things and offer help. They had all the shoes in all the sizes and fits so you could just try them on.
Katie’s Roclite 370 boots caused a lot of joy on the stand too - including older colleagues telling the young wippersnapper colleagues given them a talk through of the materials and manufacturing process of ‘how we used to make things’ 😀😀 Here they are pride of place 😀
And new shiny Trailflys - not available until April! You couldn’t buy them from the stand either….. I’m up a full size in them from my normal shoes and half size up from my normal inov8 size…
If anyone does want any more info, they’d produced a booklet especially for the show launch with all the bumph about them and what’s coming.
We met Jack Scott too 😀
