You don't have to do the same loop each time, so long as your GPS reports the necessary mileage, starting at the top of each hour.

Didn't think of that.
Could combine with a bit of Conquercise on a flat route.
Haven't done the Leeds - Liverpool canal yet.

I'm thinking it'll need to be in separate files, one for each hour. Otherwise there's no indication of whether individuals are still playing along.

Does it make sense to have it on Fetch Everyone day?

I *think* we might be in the Lake District that weekend, and I might be swimming or supporting swimmers - but I'm not sure just yet.

I know A levels are a thing for you so... A levels. I think we are done by the middle of June.

I'm imagining a page a bit like this for the participants.

There'd be a countdown clock at the top, and you'd have to hit the "I'm ready" button just before each hour is due to begin. Then you can faff about with satellites for a minute or so if you need to before heading off; and so long as your watch saves the run, it won't matter if it doesn't get synched up straight away. The "I'm ready" button lets us all know who is ready to go again, and the detail will show up as and when.

The leaderboard will show the number of competitors at each stage, with a F'Laps totaliser, and a grade that shows whether they are attempting the 'Full' distance (4.1667mi), or the 5k, or the mile. You could start out attempting the full, and drop back a grade if necessary.

Yep, that's a big consideration here too. I think The Man-Boy's exams run into early July.

I love Fetch.
We had all those sensible* suggestions, yet here we are with F'Laps.

*not that sensible at all really.

About This Thread

Maintained by fetcheveryone
I thought it'd be good to have a thread for discussing F'Laps 2024 (Date 6th July 2024). Follow this thread if interested.

The Rules
1) You must run or walk your chosen distance (a choice of 4.167 miles, 5k, 2 miles or 1 mile) within each hour e.g. 9-9.59am, 10-10.59am, 11-11.59am.
2) Each participant must visit Fetch and hit the "Completed it mate!" link before the hour ends: fetcheveryone.com/flaps-checkin.php
3) If you're finding it too much, you can drop down to a shorter distance, or tap out.
4) The winner is the last person standing in each distance category.
5) You can participate on your own, or get together with other Fetchies.
