Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

My parents had a cat that would go on walks with Mum and the dog, but at a slight distance. They'd walk on the pavements and she'd shadow them through the gardens and verges.

Henky was determined I should share my portion-controlled snack last night!

My sister's cat used to go for walks with them and the dogs, then would demand to be carried home when he got fed up.

Henky also refuses to use any kind of cat bed we've ever bought him - we had to gift this one to my nephew's cat!

My old cat Twiglet (died many years ago) would follow me to school! Always went home by herself though, and never came to wait for me to walk home! She slept in an outdoor kennel, no hope of cat beds.
Makalu is definitely a homebody, but has refused any cat bed we've tried. He sleeps on our bed in the daytime and on the sofa at night. Twigs didn't care about snow, she saw it as an opportunity. Mak hates it. Such a wussy cat 😂

I take my cat out in the garden on a lead. We don't go far, around a mile at most, and only in the direction she wants to go. First time she saw snow a couple of years ago she wouldn't go out in it. Last time, she was happy enough to explore. Thought about it today. She wouldn't go out. Did come across a couple out with their Norwegian Forest cat today, though. All wrapped up snug in a woolly coat over it's harness...

When I went on holiday to Vancouver, one of the first sights I saw was a chap out for a stroll walking his dog, with cat joining them quite happily.

As appears to be normal for Canadians, he was happy to chat to me for some time (although cat refused to speak to the foreigner!)

I would not want to go out in that either.
