Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Wood Violet I think, certainly that or Dog or possibly Sweet, I didn't smell it. In a wood above Hathersage, as was the next one.

First Dales trip this year, we were treated to -

Early purple orchids, spotted orchids (not pictured) and mountain pansies among other teeny tiny flowers.

Lovely. :)

I'm enjoying the wisteria at the moment and I've done quite a few blubell-tastic walks over the last week.

Bluebells and wild garlic have featured heavily for me recently though there's a definite increase in the invasive but pretty three-cornered leek too.

I don't think I have ever seen so much wild garlic as I have this year. Must have been the right conditions for it. Will need to Google the three cornered leek!

Thank you for those recipes Christy I think they may come in handy! On closer observation it seems the little white flowers along the hedge border infront of our cottage are said flowers. Not what I was told 😊
