The village is, however, much more ancient according to this sign.

Ancient. well that depends on your perspective on time
Ancient for our children is
Ancient for some is standing stones a couple of thousand years old
Ancient for us is the stone that has lain as part of the land since before we defined history
We would have got a better picture of the stones, but we are keeping away from buildings where we might bring contagion.
So although normally we would walk through the farm, we kept distance to keep from stressing the farmer or nearby residents we would have passed.
That and the weather was moving in fast.
Hopefully you can make them out behind the farm buildings.

I've been struggling with semantics too with this one. Lots of old buildings etc locally, but nothing I'd describe as *ancient*
When I asked the girls what they thought, Marigold helpfully suggested I just take a selfie and post that.

I'm liking your stones CotH, and your ancient village Synge. The best I could come up with was the oldest headstone in our cemetery
I was going to go to our Guildhall as it dates to 1390 but it was a step too far (literally) for today's run!
