The wear is uneven otherwise they'd last for ages.
The Vibram re-sole is interesting as they could add durability to shoes with exposed midsole by giving full outsole protection. Good for training shoes where a bit more weight and slight change in feel might not be an issue.

Yeah I still get 1000 or so from shoes that wear easily but have to stop before the shoe ends up on a slant, lol.

Left wears more rearwards due to an ankle injury a couple of years ago but both sides have always had more lateral wear.

unfortunately, I could fit both my mini size 6s in to one of those shoes Gobi.
Otherwise we're a perfect combination - heel wear isn't an issue for me!!
Hope one of the other forefoot guys can take you up on this offer though.

WW, when I wore my VF on a fairly tame trail (part road) it wasn't the sole outer that let me down, it was the lack of stability of the thick foam on uneven surfaces. And perhaps also the lacing/upper which I find a bit floppy even on hilly roads.

WW - is it 4% or Next% you were thinking of converting to trail shoes with a resole ?
For me, the 4% is too narrow in the heel and the arch - would be too unstable as a trail shoe, but then I do heel strike a bit, maybe ok if you forefoot strike, but I'd still be wary. Not sure how much broader the Next% is in the heel/arch area ?
From that shoe convention in Texas, then carbon plated trail shoes coming next year from Hoka, Saucony and Salomon, plus there's already offerings from Craft and TNF

Lol WW I'm only a size 8 and would not call myself a heal striker but definitely flat and destroying the outside edge
