I had the last of the Tesco bakery thin mince pies. The pastry is nice and the filling fills the space between lid and case. Just how it should be. But they are not my very favourites. 154

TRO Todd and alligator dodger
Donned the pinny today and knocked these puppies up. Normal mincemeat, to which I added apple, lemon zest and orange to lessen the sweetness a bit. Pastry not brilliant, but filling A1.
PS You should be able to work out how many I’ve eaten....

At last the time has come so I had my first mince pie today for breakfast!

I was planning to make some more this afternoon but I had to deep clean the kitchen, drink some gin and only had half the ingredients so I will bake tomorrow !
