That's looking amazing Will. I always have a good look at what's on your work bench to see what I may need next!

Happy building guys.

My stash expanded yesterday, Santa brought a Tamiya kit

Seasons Greetings chaps. I love all the Lego and mecanno kit. I didn`t get anymore kits as I’ve got far too much stuff in my stash. So I got a decent motorbike jacket 🙂

Here's my extra stash. Have to say I'm extra excited about the F1 car, my favourite era of the sport.

Put a track on one side of the current Tiger. Absolute pain in the arse, gluing each section onto the wheels, I'm thinking of laying the length of it out on the bench, gluing a thread to along it's length then wrapping it around the wheels and fixing it at a single point. Not unlike how you put a track on an actual tank.

Any tips gratefully received

I’m very excited about that F1 car too bud ! That’s a great kit. Looking forward to seeing it progress.

Tank tracks are a nightmare. I agree with you, lay the track out on the bench ( I’d actually paint it at this stage ) then put on tank and either use string or a rubber band to hold in place. Superglue could be used sparingly

Look on Amazon for very small modelling clamps.

Tamiya do a rotating work stand with 4 really good clamps as well

Thanks😃 it's the scale that makes our difficult TBH, 1:76 individual link is tiny.

There's a reason theres about 4 spare ones in the pack.

I want to sort it on this Revell one because the Academy kit is the same.

I'm looking forward to the Honda as well, going to wait till I have an air brush for that and the Cheify though. I don't really trust my brush work on larger panels

The scale, I agree is horrendous Rich. Actually, thinking about it, I used to fuse tracks together by heating the end of a flat screwdriver. That seemed to work well, but you have to be both fast and accurate 😂🚒
Is the Academy kit the same scale ? Look on www.scalemates.com for aftermarket tracks. I got different tracks for my bridge builder off that site.

I’ve got a spare airbrush you can have for nowt if you like. It’s not used and is surplus to requirements

About This Thread

I can't believe that we've got Crafts, Gardening, Computer Games, but not model cars, trains...!

Just don't call them toys!

My particular hobby was 1/10th scale radio controlled car racing. I'm now looking to get into radio controlled planes. We have some Airfix model builders in here and Lego builders too. Any type of model vehicles really! Planes, trains, automobiles... boats, helicopters, anything! Come join in! :-) G
