this on facebook from Edinburgh marathon festival. Making some bold claims about their recycling and waste at recent running festival.
What they failed to tell you was, the amount of plastic tat that every runner would have took home.
technical tshirt (plastic) in plastic bag. Carboard box (plastic coated branding) instead of goodie bag, but with plastic cord handle containing plastic coated foil blanket. a plastic sachet of cool gel a plastic sachet of hot warm gel
a medal and ribbon cereal bar in plastic
and that's without me giving it too much thought.

I'm just now preparing a rosemary infusion for hair. I know there's been some talk on here and similar groups about shampoo bars not being a great option. I did try the infusion briefly years ago after a Greek holiday where local people told me about it. I used a Lush shampoo bar when I travelled through India for 3 weeks. My hair, which can normally be washed in any old thing, didn't do well on the Lush blue bar. Will report back later as I'm going to wash my hair when it's ready.

I keep the foil blankets for emergencies when out hiking. Looking forward to RS's experiment with the rosemary infusion.

Me too as I have a big rosemary bush in my garden and am struggling to find anything that makes my long greasy locks anywhere near as nice as ordinary shampoo

I made the decoction/rosemary hair tea and let it cool. After washing my hair with just water under the shower, I poured a small glass of it into my hair, squished it around and left it for 4 mins. I rinsed and then left it to dry naturally like I always do and went to a yoga class. I've just brushed it and it feels silky with a bit more body than normal. It smells very faintly of rosemary. I'll see how it is over the next few days and raid my dad's garden for rosemary and some plants - he's got loads of it including a hedge in the front garden.

I used both Rosemary and Chamomile infusions in my hair-goodness knows how long ago - early 80s? I liked the chamomile and grew it in the garden for years, haven’t used it for a while will look at doing it again

It's really easy to root a cutting of rosemary. Chop a bit off and put in a glass jar of water. After a week or two roots will sprout and you can plant it out in a pot or direct in the garden. My grandmother used to rinse her hair with rosemary and I have a huge bush in my garden grown from a cutting from hers.

Thanks for the infographic Maz - that is what am trying to get organisers to open their eyes to with regards to both the operational side, sponsors and the participants. Cos otherwise it all seems like a bit of green washing marketing there.
I think EMF are trying to change but their info-graphic is somewhat ambiguous. What was actually recycled? How much of it was sent to a waste to energy incinerator and called recycling (as was once called in an article about Sweden's recycling!)?
