I’m off to walk Scafell. Hope to park at Wha 🤞. It’s a beautiful morning and if it stays this clear I’ll look across to the Pike and be happy I’m not sharing my summit with such a crowd.

I’d like to recommend the youtube channel «Lake District Farming» to while away the evenings occasionally, when you can’t actually get there.

Did you make it, runnyeyes? We joined the crowds today and did Helvellyn, up Striding Edge and down Swirral with a detour to Nethermost and Dollywaggon. It was clear of cloud all day and we saw the cloud lifting off the Scafells part way through the day.

Sounds great Synge. We were on the path less trodden compared to your route. We parked at Wha house then slowly climbed up to the east side of Scafell. There’s a long narrow gully that takes you to Foxes tarn.. climb up there, and then it’s just 20 minutes of vertical scree.. and you’re almost on the summit. Superb visibility with a particularly stunning view of Wastwater etc and really warm as we descended.
