Cute puppy! When are puppies NOT cute?

Poppy's obedience class was a happier versionof Jess' first puppy party. She was huge and young - all paws like GSds are, the other pups were a bit older and all small dogs. I now think the mix was a little wrong. The older, small dogs kept flying at her! Especially a particularly feisty dachshund (sorry) called Rio and a wretched (sorry!) JRT. Poor Jess was quite overwhelmed!

Doesn’t surprise me Sharkie my previous dachshund was really bad with other dogs but lovely with people. I’m hoping to prevent that with taking him to puppy socialisation this time around. I’ve been buying more stuff on Amazon now got a tag harness and lead 😂

We have two or three dax that live near us and a couple are really barky with other dogs (less so off the lead). My brother used to have two Miniature Long Haired and I don't remember them being especially reactive to other dogs but then I really only ever saw them in the house and we didn't have Wanda at the time!

PMB we’ve all been new puppy owners and asked endless questions and posted lots of updates. This thread was a god send when Ernie came home and continues to be a source of great wisdom.

Random question alert! Does anyone have any experience of reading dogs in schools?

No, but if there are any they'll be Border Collies.

Sorry, couldn't resist - is it a reassurance thing? I 'think' I've heard of it and it's not the 1st of April.
