Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Slug damage to my newly-planted-out courgette plants. I am about to go out into the dark garden with a torch, a long pair of tweezers and a jar of salt water.

I've just wandered the garden in the dark with a head torch. No visible slugs. :-)

I've planted out my Spring cabbage and kale today. I have far more brassica seedlings than I remember planting! (I'll give the surplus away tomorrow at church, I think.)

And netted them all in a cage to keep the cabbage whites out!

Oddly none of the calabrese germinated.

Also pumpkins out. 3 out of six plants.

Courgettes aren't quite ready to face the world yet.

I've harvested and lightly stewed the Spring rhubarb crop. In the freezer for now.

My courgettes are very shy this year - both the outdoor and indoor planted seeds are yet to peek out of the soil. I don't think it's been quite warm enough for them until today.

I germinated my courgettes on a heated thingy, quite decent sized plants now.

I’m needing to put some sort of barrier on all my veg beds as the cat is being particularly persistent about using them as litter trays this year. :(

My first lot of rhubarb in now soaking in gin.....

My planting success has been very bizarre this year, 3 out of 24 sugar snaps! 1 out of 15 runner beans! Everything else has done really well even my chilli's- ended up with 21 out of 24 chilli's

Can anyone help me to find a way of identifying a tree in my garden and also a small plant?

There's a few plantfinder apps on line (some you can upload a pic rather than trying to describe it!), or stick a picture of it on here and we can apply the collective knowledge of Fetch gardeners?
