Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

But I do love a double-fronted house.

Why do houses with big gardens waste them so much?
Not incorporating enough control points?

Well, indeed 57.5deg, but that rather makes my main point - they always seem to have such massive expanses of pointless lawn.

If you've got room for a proper greenhouse (or even glasshouse!), proper plantings, veg beds etc, why not make use of that space??

Instead we get lawns manicured to within an inch of their lives. Which is terrible for the environment.

Or ridiculous oversized chess boards....

I'll accept that most people would like some sort of lawn area in which to sit out in the sun, but that doesn't need to be 5 acres of grass....

They look like very lovely gardens to me. No fake grass or gravel, or concrete paving and plastic decking.

(Which is a little unfair - I've been 3 times and there are some nice bits. Just unfortuantely awful politics and some really really really really really awful bits).

While I totally agree, such things do take a significant amount of time week in week out. But actually both of those houses seem to have pretty significant kitchen gardens - just not included in the estate agent photos because presumably they don't look too great in February.
