8 weeks :-O ...

Ours is tomorrow! First meet of the year and my second XC ever, only 3.9m though and handicapped so a nice ease into the proper stuff in a few weeks!

Oh and I dont need them for tomorrow as the park is very dry currently, but any recommendations of good xc spikes welcome.

I currently run in Nike Free 3.0s, supposedly minimal shoes, very light and very flexible, so ideally I would like something similar (i.e. not too rigid) for about £20-30... possible?

Curly - you should be pretty safe - I find much less variation in XC spikes than most shoes. I use Adidas RLH at the moemnt but think I will go back to Nike waffle this year - nice simple spikes. Saucony make some good XC spikes as well.

Met League for me but starts the week be fore Frankfurt Marathon so will miss the first focture. Will try to run Surrey League with Kent where the dates don't clash too. I love XC season!

Cool I was looking at the nike ones - I wear mens because of my monster feet so can usually pick up a cheap pair as they are sale leftovers ;) Need to buy some high vis stuff for on the bike so will chuck some spikes into my shopping basket.

Tom - I am going to be doing some of the Surrey fixtures too :)

Or indeed the latest version - compare.ebay.co.uk

Have t say if i saw someone wearing those I'd want to work an extra bit harder to over take them! I have heard those brooks are fantastic though.

Might see you Curly during the season depends on how many SL races I get out for. A good mate of mine and training partner Rich Gregory runs with you guy sand we had planned to do some XC together - though he is not runnign right now.
