Little bits of snow on the ground in Leek! it was good fun but they changed the course to include more hills round the back bit (I didn't think that was possible!). Came in about 10 places higher than usual for that league, which is odd because the last fixture there are usually more runners out. I suspect I will find this is the one year the fewest runners turned out. Still I had a decent run.

The ground was solid in Aberdeen for the East of Scotland Championships. 4 times up a long slog of a hill on the route including an uphill finish which was hard going. I was happy to finish in the top half of a very tough field. 37:45 for just shy of 10k (I made it 9.94k!). 4th counter for my team as well
Next XC will be in the new year. Suprisingly I'm still leading our club XC GP! Mainly because I've run every race so far though, lol. Only 6 to count out of 9 come the end of the season though.

No XC for me today. I woke up feeling grotty so I went out and spectated instead. Good results for my club.

Good run daviec - just too strong for me on that final hill! I was happy with my 37.54 even if that was only good enough for 61st place. Strong field as you say even though the overall numbers were down on usual which I suspect was due to a combo of the dodgy weather and location being further north than usual. Despite all the bad weather recently the 2 xc races I've run this year have been great conditions so no doubt come January fixtures it will be a mudbath to even things up!

Cheers Richy. I thought when you went back past me at the bottom of the course I was done in, but found a bit of pace on the hill trying to chase down a U20 guy from Edinburgh AC and a Carnethy Hill Runner. Never caught either of them, lol! I was glad to get finished when I did though. Another climb would have killed me!

Great time at the Kent Vets on Saturday, closed the team in 43rd place (6 higher than last year) and bagged the M40 Team Bronze (3 places higher than last year).
It was dodgy in the wooded section, clubmate was a yard or two in front of me when he rolled his ankle over on some of the many exposed roots, was being given gas and air when I passed him on the 2nd and 3rd laps. Didn't stop him getting out for a pre-christmas drinks session that evening although the bouncers took some convincing that he was unsteady on his feet because of a bad ankle sprain rather than because he was p*ssed

oi you
Alun, that woodland track is a bit rough, but great fun. So many people really wouldn't run hard down itl that I did nearly all my overtaking there. Fearless, that's me - mind you I was pleased enough to have only 2 laps to do. I ended up pretty much mid-field, 15th of 32 M60s

Last one of the season on Sunday all being well. A few laps of a golf course and school fields from what I can remember of it.
