Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

There have to be some rules, and commercially available is a reasonable restriction (tho custom made could be a bit of a grey area). But knowing what we do now about the shoes I don't really see how there can be any problem with them.

all this conversation is doing is to encourage me to stockpile another pair!

Chris - I never came back to you on your kind suggestion that I take the Stanley knife to my old VF. No way!! I'm coming to the conclusion that even a warn out pair is still great for nicely-cushioned training runs. I'm also reading feedback from a few folks now that they believe that the magic just goes on and on well past the sell-by-date advertised by Nike.

Yep, tarmac all the way. It would be good to go to a parkrun that I haven’t done as well, that might be more difficult to work out...

I might have reviewed my opinion about how well the VFs fare in the rain though. My new pair with only 8 miles in them fared really well in the rain in Tokyo but a friend running the same race in a pair of fairly new VFs had issues with his insoles curling up due to the water and now they are pretty useless.

I suspect he was wearing a slightly bigger size than he is used to though because i've never had the same issue.
