Sounds positive, Pix. Do you think Mr Pix will want to retire next year then?

It does. He at least has had a taste of retirement with his time off this year. Like Mr Ness and I, hopefully he'll be able to enjoy his hobbies and interests which will be great.

Are you still planning to do the full time years followed by part time work that you mentioned before?

Makes sense.

Like you say it's getting the finances together that's the key. Mr Ness and I are OK right now with his pensions and the money I'm getting from TPS. Things will be even better when I reach 60 cos I'll start using my AVC fund and when I reach 67 and get my state pension.

I havent retired fully, still available to help out, and works for both parties.

Today I completed a tender for a substantial amount of autumn business for my firm (ex firm?), all parties felt comfortable with the tender, confidence in the tender process, and now I can enjoy the summer (except there is a spring and summer 2023 tender process to go through!) Am I really retired?

just printed a load of documents to read and OK with proposed actions.
although Mr Pix would like to retire next year I think the cost of living/fuel and the situation in Ukraine will have a big impact on the decision and also the pension pots
with the fuel cap being lifted further in October we think we will be going up the the best part of £300 a month from a fix which is less than £100

That is a lot, Pix. Our energy bills are fixed until next spring. We’re glad my pension has kicked in so will be able to cover the increase then.
