Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Hopefully you'll be travelling to somewhere with more predictable weather soon, TROSaracen Mr Ness and I found spending most of January on a Canary Island was good for that. 😁

7 weeks into retirement, and I’m trying to anticipate what retirement life without it raining all day would look like.

The same, but drier.

That’s the plan Ness, Lanzarote in January done, then Mallorca in April, Mallorca in May (half Ironman race).

Come Autumn I have Nice in Sept, Hawaii in Oct and either New Zealand in Dec or Canada (skiing) Jan or Feb.

I think January spell in Lanza just made this miserable shit seem even worse though….

Great plans! I agree. It has been particularly rainy this time. I think we had some snow in March last year.

The irony is I thought retirement would create flexibility in the timing of doing outside stuff so that rain dodging would be highly effective.

Beardy upstairs bloke’s response has been to hurl unprecedented rain all day days at me, the bastard.

Ahhh so it's your fault, TRO. It has been so much wetter than I've been used to. We haven't had the occasional mild and sunny winter days this year, the ones when I can sit in the garden to have my afternoon cuppa. We usually manage one or two in January and a few in February. I wondered why that was...

We did have snow this time last year. I think I’d sooner that than the persistent rain, however.
