It was the annual allowance not Mpaa that increased to £60k. Best check and be sure because if you are caught by mpaa you might regret it. I forget what triggers it though.

MPAA is triggered by taking income from a DC pension apart from the 25% tax free lump sum and the main pitfall to be wary of is probably that it will be triggered if you move your pension pot into flexi-access drawdown and start taking an income from it (25% of each withdrawal being tax exempt) rather than withdrawing the 25% lump sum and leaving the remainder invested. But it's possible to continue to invest £10,000 a year in a pension provided your earnings are at least that much.

It'll only become an issue for me if I start taking income from my SIPP and then Agent Million comes knocking at my door. We're in expenditure exceeds income mode now.

Thanks all. Yes it's the 60K annual allowance that I want to still be able to use. Staying below 25% of DC pots is what I'll do. Only bit I didn't know is that you have to have the pension running in the 3 preceeding years even if not contributing to it. :-) G
