The Hotel New Hampshire is one of my favourite books, and I like TWAG
Thanks, McG. I was thinking of fic. But open to either.
What about When Breath becomes Air, and that one by the nurse? Is it Peaceful Passages? And the one by Julian Barnes? I have a feeling you have read all of those.

WBBA is brilliant, IMHO. It was quite a scattered MS when the author died but I believe his wife and their publisher got together to complete it. One of the few books my eldest has read in recent years.
Indeed, I very much 'enjoyed' if that is the word, Levels of Life - but I like most of Barnes' later work.
I'd forgotten I'd read so many along this ...er... rut I haven't read the nurse one.

I thought you'd read quite a few. Thank you. I will check out WBBA and the Barnes, along with the other two on the previous page.

I'll stick with space operas and pulp crime for now, sorry.

The only Irving I’ve attempted is A Prayer For Owen Meany, and I disliked that one so much I abandoned and sent it to the charity shop. Put me off him completely.

I am reading a rather odd book just now where Women wear a bracelet that counts their words and starts to administer electric shots if they exceed 100 words per day. The men appear to be sexist pigs.
The heroine and her daughter have had their counters removed so the heroine can save the presidents brother meanwhile her son 'got his way' with his girlfriend and then reported her for inappropriate behaviour and she has been taken away by the authorities
I am not quite sure where its all heading towards
