Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Well done to everyone that's made it to France :-)

Very annoyed at myself for not finding the time - I'm still 6.4 miles from shore :-( I'm off to the London Aquatic pool on weds so planning an epic (for me) swim there, plus I'll be doing my fitness swimming class on Friday, but I'll still be about 4 miles short. There is still a chance I could fit a couple more swims in somewhere but still don't think I'll make it!

I'm going to make a special effort to overtake Lills so that I can be best non-finisher ;-)

Opps silly me. I pressed submit before I'd finished. After all these years I'm still no closer to being key-board literate.

Great swim this morning. Once again had my own private lane. I could allow myself to stretch out a little, splash a little. My kick is not my strong point. I think that is the next bit I ned to work on.
Did one and a half hours quick slow medium quick quick slow etc. Thought I was training for the Olympics i'm sure. :)

Covered just over two miles in total

Sounds good BBL :-)

My swim last night was a stinker. I managed to do 2.5k but boy was it a struggle. I swam like a coo and felt like a toffee apple (swim through treacle). The first mile was a real struggle. Then managed to get into a stride until the human wave machine turned up and I must have drank a gallon of water. So that made the remaining lengths a chore :-O

AC - you should be setting an example on this thread lol

BBL - I bet my kick could rival yours for crapiness! You know when people kick a length using a board? I tried it and started sinking once momentum from pushing off the wall faded.... How do you even kick? It's like hula hooping. I don't get it.

Medalslut- You'd have to be really crap to beat my kick . All i can say is I'm improving and by next year I'll be an expert.:)
Totalled up all the lengths since my last update. Done 1496 = 38600 metres = 24.8 miles.
Have I got my sums correct?
Kimbles that treacle swimming sounds tough. especially with a "human wave machine " I think I can visualise that. :)

Little jolly to the Olympic pool at Stratford today. 2.5k which is about as far as I can do in one session, I couldn't even climb out of the pool afterwards I was so knackered!

Maybe the support boat can provide us with a taster of wine and cheese as we get closer to shore AC ;-)
