I seem to have done little cycling or swimming this yr.
Pretty poor form for a triathlete!

I am looking like clocking up my highest ever years running mileage tho and its, finally, paying off with my pace. Just need to stay injury free now

Some amazing swimming going on. I am now at 16 miles, but will be taking a few days or so out now, as I am having a spinal block this week. I must be the slowest one here, it take me an hour to swim a mile! Still, getting there, and still just aiming to finish. Well done everyone.

Dont worry about speed solitude-fairy, your getting it done and that's the main thing. Hope everything goes okay re: spinal block.

No swimming last night for me as felt a bit off. Today however I feel a bit bereft because I didnt go :-O Going to have to make up serious mileage on Friday!

I've no idea about what a decent time for a mile is. I've manage between 20-25 minutes for 1000 meters (I think, I sometimes lose track of the number of laps I've done).

Another 2.5km this morning brings my total to 10km this week! :D

It takes me an hour to swim a mile too. This is the most swimming I've done in a year since I was 15. I still don't like it much.

This is the most swimming I've done since I was about 13. Used to swim competitively, so at least I know my technique is alright, but holy shoulders! I'd better look good in a sleeveless Christmas dress in December. :P

I have found a new favourite swimming pool today. It's a bit further from home but way nicer than the other two I've been using. Not too cold. Clean - without the layer of sand at the bottom that the local one has and the tidemark of plasters that the second choice has. Nice changing area, private showers and lane swimming all day long even during swimming classes.

I take an hour or a few minutes under to do my 1.12miles (74 x 25m lengths). I stick to the medium pace lane and that seems to be right - the fast laners are *much* faster and the slow laners are old boys doing painfully slow breaststroke. I'd love to speed up a bit.

I am no longer finding it boring and I reckon it's doing my overall fitness a power of good. I may not keep up quite the same distance once the challenge is done but I will try to keep fitting in a couple of swims each week.
