The use of the term "round" in relation to mountaineering depends on the tradition - for Wainwrigts it might mean a continuous journey, but for Munros that is not the case historically.

It has long been the case of someone completing their round (I've always said I completed my round on Ben Lomond), or someone doing a 2nd or 3rd round, or who has done the most rounds, etc, etc.

So in this context, a Winter Round just means completing them all within the definition of the winter season, but doesn't imply one continuous (or self-propelled) journey.

57.5 Days of Pain
I think in the 83 days it took her she had some pretty severe weather. Impressive doing a winter round.
She must have had some shocking weather in the early stages. The good weather in the second half must have been a huge relief.

We're looking to climb a Munro or two on Sunday, do any of you know if there is still lots of snow on the tops? We're thinking about West Highlands area.

Lochnagar and surrounding hills were looking particularly snowy this weekend. Not sure of the West.

It’s pretty mild here on the Black Isle but I can’t commit on summits.

Hi Mrs Shanks.....The north facing corries and some narrow ridge lines are holding snow. Alos, there is more snow forecast Friday and Saturday.
metoffice.gov.uk

If you choose carefully you should find something to do. Ben Nevis will be very white on top, so it depends what level you are looking at?

Some things to help:
Ben Nevis webcam visitfortwilliam.co.uk
Ben More (Crianlarich) benmorewebcam.co.uk
Glencoe ski (shows northern corries though) glencoemountain.co.uk

I'd be taking winter gear or planning a way around

Just do a few Corbetts instead if you don’t fancy snow.
