This really is quite tempting. I wish there were Air Miles for all this virtual globetrotting, though, as I am due to start running in New Zealand on Monday! fetcheveryone.com/forum/virtual-challenge-journey-of-the-ring-new-zealand-61784/ |

Like Synge (maybe others) I'm doing the virtual New Zealand run. Obviously you can use your miles for two events but that seems odd to me, so I'll give GVRAT a miss this time. I'll see about earning a second buckle somewhere else... (also not completely given up on lower key real world events happening in late Spring, but we'll see...) |

I'm doing that too. As things stand it wouldn't surprise me if I finished it mid May so wouldn't be too much doubling up to do both.

It doesn't sit well with me that one run is used for two events. I have entered the New Zealand run & I am going to enter GVRAT again. So, I have a cunning plan. I'll log my miles between 1st February & 30th April onto the New Zealand run. Then, as the GVRAT is from May till the end of August, I'll log the majority of my miles to that race. If for example I ran 10 miles on 5th May, I'd probably log 8 miles to GVRAT & 2 miles to the New Zealand race. Come the end of August, I can then log all my miles to the New Zealand race as we have a year to finish it. That way my conscience is clear that I have entered two virtual races & have run the required distance for both events. I hope that makes sense. I'm sure there's some logic in there somewhere. All the best everyone. |

Thanks roberton, I’m glad someone understands my skewed logic. See you in New Zealand, virtually of course. 👍
