Nice one Hann, the O'Jays are a class act. Talking of which, I was listening to Sounds of the 70s on Sunday and JW featured Kenny Gamble/Leon Huff and so that meant stuff from the Three Degrees ..... in the UK we take them for granted because they were in the "pop" charts and had a number one etc, but in the soul music world they're taken very seriously because all of them were/are excellent vocalists. Just listen to "When Will I see You Again" and how Sheila Ferguson holds a perfect note for what seems like forever, she is hugely underrated. Anyhow, when she was young she cut some sides for Swan and a few made it big on the NS scene, this is my fave:
Time for an induction into the FE Hall of Fame. This one ranks among my top ten, at least among the uptempo numbers anyhow! I've loved this for what seems like forever: '...... I gave her my heart, she only used it; she took my love then she abused it'. Amen to that eh?
