Hi all. T'was a good night with a few glitches. Long wait in the cold outside while bags searched due to a recent drink-spiking thing. We would have missed a lot of tunes as we were probably in a queue for at least 20 mins.
Got in and there was a really nice, friendly vibe. All smiles, everyone moving. At one point Hann said to me "everyone's dancing" and that included the DJ, the stage dancers, peeps on the balcony; as well as the dancefloor. A really varied audience with lots of different outfits ranging from very smart to very casual. Levanna and an older male professional dancer spent quite a bit of time on the stage dancing in front of the decks. Other people joined in from time to time, including someone who we think was probably her granny.
Music when we got there was a bit mixed - possibly what NE calls modern soul. I only recognised a few tunes and one of them was Lynx's "You're Lying". When Levanna finally got on the decks, the thread tunes started and we had a dance or two.
Just soaking up the vibe of being out amongst happy, chatty peeps was a thing of joy. Lovely little soul club. Capacity for the night was 300 and sold out.
I thought I might indulge of my "other" passion for your entertainment
