Seeds sown - they are a rather old pack though, so I am not sure about germination rates, I will purchase a back-up pack this weekend, just in case......

If you start off with hybrid seeds (F1) then there's no point saving them. Otherwise sunflower seeds ought to keep a year fine if you store them correctly. In the past my non-hybrid seeds have self-seeded at the allotment occasionally. I'll plant mine tomorrow.
