So the single headed ones should grow taller all things considered (I could be talking crap here). Basically, height depends on the variety, the soil (and whether pot/ground), watering, sunlight and feeding. And those bastard slimy things that eat them...

I would have saved my heads but they didn't get big enough and I think the snails were feasting on them too much so the compost bin here. My taller one was in the ground, with nothing extra added but the better plant was in a great big pot, with nothing extra added. I should be awesome next year, if I put my mind to it.
