Judders,
My final big effort before London was last Sunday, Liverpool HM (new PB..). Ran one receovery run after that, but enforced taper due to a mild cold..hopefully get back running tomorrow or saturday..

How is everyone else doing?

Hi all

Sarah unless you agree to meet at the first water station or Lucozade point think it will be very difficult to find one another along the way.

Feeling pretty good right now after this mornings run, lets hope I feel like this on the 17th!

All the way TEAM 5

Judders, bless you, of course you'll recognise me. But I won't be dressed as Andy, or in a wheelchair this time so are you sure? lol And you always seem to get colds. Take echinacea and eat lots of onion and garlic. I rarely get a cold (that's tempting fate, isn't it?) but I always stink!!! lol

Hello everyone, I'm feeling pretty good at the moment. I always rest on Wednesdays and Thursdays but usually run on a Friday with my club but can't manage tomorrow as I have to go to a meeting. I'll be doing 15 miles this weekend though. Taper has started, but I don't mind, I'm not someone who goes mad if they aren't running all the time.

MissChappo - I've always liked orange sweets best, especially orange smarties. I can't think of anything else I would need at fetchpoint right now. I'll be running with a bumbag with all sorts of stuff in like shotbloks, flapjacks, and cake etc. Wait - I've just though of something - Irn Bru! Do you have it in London or would I have to get some to you? A wee bottle of Irn Bru would go down a treat :-). (yes I am scottish)

Judders - I know you are right. I think we will both have phones but the magazine says we might not get a signal due to the amount of folk trying to use phones. And we will have a great time anyway :-)

monsenb1 - congrats on a great PB, you are v fast! I can still remember feeling v sick after the effort of a sub 1:45 half. Not something I plan on repeating until November. I'm definitely more in to ultras now so I can go slow

Speedie - that is a really good idea, will maybe suggest meeting a water station instead

Son of a Pronator Man
Tapering continues. Running has been cutrailed in the last 3/4 weeks because of a niggling thigh injury. THis has led to all but key sessions being replaced by no impact gym stuff like cycling, elliptical or swimming. I have trained every day this year, and ran a PB at Alloa Half on 20 March. Key sessions like Long runs, MP sessions and tempo have been done.
17 Miles on Saturday, the off to Tenerfie for a week where I will stick to the programme and keep the training going at a steady rate as per the P&D 55-75 mpw programme.
Whever I think about VLM i get nervous.

Why are you nervous when you think about VLM Son of a Pronator Man? Sounds like you've done excellent training despite an injury.

I agree with mrs shanksi, excellent training (every day, wow!) and heaps of experience SoaPM. Hope the injury fades away during taper..

Whenever I think about VLM I get nervous and I'm not even running it!!!!

Mrs S - I think they sell Irn Bru South of the border so I'm sure I can procure some.

SOAPM - your training sounds brilliant but (non expert advice warning) don't rule out having a rest before the big day.

I am SO looking forward to seeing all of you :-)
