How's everyone's training going? I'm on my final long run this weekend at which point my taper begins.

Training has been pretty patchy compared to some other marathons but I will have got my 3 planned 20 mile runs in so I should be able to plod around and enjoy the day.

We're coming down from Scotland on the Thursday and going to the Expo on Friday if anyone else is around.

Are there any pre or post race drinks/meals organised?

Hi Triplet Dad

Everyone usually goes to The Chandos afterwards, near Trafalgar Square. Upstairs, which is hard for both runners and people who have been standing around all day, but we take over quite a bit of space!

I've been training hard at standing sideways, more or less on one leg, with bits of juicy orange in my hands. It's hard work but someone has to do it!

Training not been going to plan here at all - longest run so far is 18 miles. Am going to attempt 20 this weekend and fingers crossed it actually happens - if so all will be ok - if not I will go into meltdown.....

No matter what London will happen but as it is my last one I want to be able to run it all

Two more long runs for me as I have had to re-jig my training somewhat. Definitely heading to The Chandos afterwards and more than happy to buy anyone who recognises me a drink!

Weather-wise, the half marathon last weekend was in horizontal rain and knock-you-down winds so I am hoping for dry and mild on the 26th.

Me too Paula :) I've just checked and for once there appear to be nice early trains running, getting excited now - sooo much fun last year :)

My legs felt more wrecked the day after Fetchpointing than they did after actually running in the race.

VMLM is just a training race for me so no taper and I'm running from Glasgow to Edinburgh this weekend.

I'm going to be doing some voice exercises, ready to produce some extra big shout outs :-) I might do some preventative gargling as well (or I might just drink some nice red wine).

Please make sure I know if you are likely to want hugs or a kick up the backside (I respond better to abuse at mile 22 rather than nice words, so I have no problem dishing it out if that's what you want). I'm happy to hug sweaty people, by the way, it's all part of the service. *Makes note to pack lots and lots of wet wipes*

Can. Not. Wait. I am ridiculously excited about this.
