As often as not I use lookup because the syntax is easier and cow-orkers are more likely to understand it.

Having grown up with vlookup in my working years, I must admit to not finding the index/match syntax flowing in the same way that vlookup does. It's an old friend, I can work around it's foibles even if it is imperfect and limited.
I aspire to becoming an index/match disciple.

Eh? You can use the DAX expression language in PowerPivot or program it using VB. The data table is actually translated into an "OLAP" tabular table. It ain't just a lookup data table. eek am out before I rant on!!!
