I did try to stick to the shade but there wasn't much and it was relatively early too. So, what is the best sport sun cream for pale, easy burn people like me?

I used a liz earle one on Saturday and I looked like a goth when I left home and it just came off! It isn't a sports one, so maybe was being optimistic. I will try factor 50 and look out for avene and P20 - thanks!

Bad memories of running a race into the sun with eyes closed due to pain caused by unsuitable suncream. As a result I just don't put any cream on my forehead!

Banananana Boat Ultra Mist is great, but a bit expensive.Best for no eye sting. Tastes horrid when it gets in your mouth. Ultrasun(?) very nice, but not sure how long it lasts. Has done me for a couple of hours on the bike though. Currently trying the new 'clear' Nivea stuff, which smells like Bananana Boat ultramist and seems to work well.
