Ht - a nice stretch. Hope the weather is good for you. When we did the section east from Lyme a couple of years ago, we walked on the beach all the way to Charmouth. Then we decided to stay on the beach and aimed for the steps at St Gabriel's Mouth, not realising they had been destroyed in a mudslide. We couldn't face going back to Charmouth and repeating the distance (the car was at Seatown and we had bussed to Lyme), so we clambered up the face of the mudslide. We realised well before we reached the path at the top that this was a pretty stupid thing to do, but we made it! |

122.1 miles, 5th place, not a race. Didn't quite make it to Bude, but I'm sleeping under the stars at a place called Northcott Mouth, which is of personal interest because the maiden name of the only one of my great-grandmothers that I knew was Annie Northcote and her father or grandfather had been one of a group of Cornish tin miners who had been brought to Ayrshire to work in the pits and then abandoned to fend for themselves. Some of my secondary school classmates had surnames which suggested they were also descendants of the men who had come from Cornwall at the same time.

Has everyone received the conversion chart? Not sure I entirely approve (If I did, I could have an extra 13 miles for my bike ride today.)

Not seen any mention of conversion chart but then as it’s not a race I’m not really following what’s going on

And yes, if other people want to go round the virtual SWCP by doing t'ai chi or washing the car or punching a bag it's none of my business because it's Not A Race

Not seen that chart! I shall be sticking to walking/running. The rest seem a little bizarre.
