Our mind instantly jumped to Huxley's Doors of Perception, but that is really hard to portray.
But in the way that our sensorium messes with our perception of reality, we will dial back some of that input to try and allow for that in the images.
Passage through a door can mess with our state dependent memory, flood or deprive our senses, take or give strength, require knowledge or tokens...
Sometimes we pass through, other times we let others in. Some allow passage once only or in a given direction. Not all doors look like doors...

Oh, and on a silly note. We are awful with jokes. We only know two. One of which is far to rude to recount here. The other is a Christmas Cracker joke.
When is a door not a door? When it is ajar.

The Doors of Perception was my initial thought as well COTH but I wasn't prepared to be as experimental as Huxley. Good photos today - the last one is intriguing as it doesn't look like a door, unless it is the door to somewhere sinister.
