Fragile Do Not Bend
Right, I've got to accept that just getting in the miles isn't sufficient for my body any more. Expanding waistline, slower times and the onset of injury niggles again mean that I need to get my arse down a gym, despite my dislike of the places and a reluctance to spend £40 a month on it.

Putting it in writing here so I do it.

Lemon10
I did five very slow miles mostly just walking and I am knackered, have been dozing all afternoon. Mr Lemon got chatting to a farmer we saw out there and he was showing us how he checks his wheat to see if it is dry enough to harvest, lovely chap and we can now just about hear the combine in his fields (he said they would be dry enough this afternoon).

Frag I need to do something else / more as my waistline is expanding, not sure what or when as I am knackered all the time I can't imagine doing any more! I am seriously thinking of less to no running and doing more walking. My head is still not right these days though, will decide when in my new job, and hopefully then will be a bit better in myself.

Fragile Do Not Bend
There are cheaper gyms around here but I need to do classes (it would never happen if I didn't have a thing with a date and time booked) and they need to be weekday daytime. The cheap gyms have next to no classes when I want them.

L10 - could be your job stress is knackering you out? Like you say, best to re-evaluate things when you are in your new job.

I used to love weight training in the gym, I used to have a PT but can't afford that, or a gym membership right now. I've been doing my own variation of Tabata training the last couple of weeks. I think it's good for body and mind to mix up the types of exercise you're doing.

Well done Nutso and Lemon on your runs today.

I did a 5k fun run this morning, think it might have been a bit short of 5k (garmin on the blink at the start so not sure) but it still wasn't "fun". Bit hilly for my liking and a bit warm too.

Frag, my council gym is cheaper than that. I know what you mean about booking the classes though.

I managed to get round my half marathon today. It was so well organised and scenic but a couple of really long, relentless hills to walk up gave a lovely shady gentle run down after. The last mile was running through the city centre, past the cathedral and came in at 13.55 miles by my Garmin. 2 ticks then, new longest run and first half marathon. :)
