Hello again, I'd previously posted a note about bringing a Time Trial (like the famous Bushy Park Time Trial) to Glasgow. The idea is still going, and I wanted to encourage people to consider signing up to get involved in helping, or to hear more about the event when it's ready to start. For those not aware of them the parkrun/UKTT events are fun, free, community led running events for runners of all abilities. Most famous for the Bushy Park Time Trial, there are now a total of 11 regular events across the UK, and more are coming all the time. The idea of bringing the first Scottish parkrun event to Glasgow has met with support from many people - including Culture and Sports at Glasgow Council. But the onus is really on runners, like us, to present a complete plan. That's where you come in! We really need to get everybody who's interested together in one place, sort out a few details, form a core group of volunteers, and then to build interest in the event when it's ready to start, perhaps as soon as a month or two from now. So, if you're interested in helping to make it happen, please consider signing up, both to stay informed, but also to contribute your ideas: groups.google.com The group is moderated, and I expect it to be low volume. The more people who get involved the easier it will be to add wonderful, free, regular event to Glasgow's running calendar, and help enhance the running community in Glasgow and Scotland. Please feel free to forward on this e-mail to anybody else who might be interested, or to get in touch with me via fetch. Regards, Richard Leyton.
