12.5 k The year I did it ( 2018?) it was super icy but the organizers had gritted the dangerous bits so the race went ahead . I think there was a race in Livi that same day when runners were having all sorts of slips and falls. Tough course even without the ice.

The Muckcroft and Market road hills in the Kirkie were the worst for me but otherwise not too bad.

I did it last in 2018, there was icy sections and frozen muddy puddles. Right at the start everyone was trying to take a line down the centre of the toad to keep their feet dry.

A lassie called us all woosies, tried to run through one of the puddles & face planted. Soaked from head to toe in freezing muddy water, ouch.

I did the Livvy Half that day Soapy.....it was beyond dreadful. I took a wrong turn and cut the course bu half a mile but was just pleased to finish having not fallen.

Oh dear. Entered! That's going to be one early start!

Might see if I can tie it in with some work. Not during the race, obviously. I mean I know I'm female but even that's a multi task too far even for me.

A friend on my strava did that marathon today in the Trossachs, looked like a hard shift.

I ran it, that climb at 23k was definitely not runnable .. but the rest was. Lovely run, fab weather obviously helped. I’d go back next year for sure.

zp - glad you enjoyed it. You can make it a 20 mile loop and run it anytime by starting further up the road past Kinlochard, at Loch Chon. Done it 3 times in the last year and definitely be back again in a few weeks
