I didn't say it was the hardest or most intense event possible, just hardest of those I had done. I usually deliberately steer clear of hill races or any races with significant hill component. They're hard! Unfortunately, I felt I had to do the Pentland Skyline as I was in a running club with "Pentland" in its name!

Well done on Ring of Steall. Looks a pig! :-) G

The Ochils 2K was the toughest race I ever ran. It cured me of any desire to run a hill race ever again.

Agreed about Skyline vs RoS, I didn't mean that RoS is the hardest (there's plenty tougher I'm sure)

Ochills 2K is vaguely on my to-do list, but not until I'm feeling a lot fitter and better prepared...

RoS must be up there as one of the toughest non-Ultras in Scotland? On my radar for next year perhaps, Ben Nevis Ultra this year - just a month away, exciting! Pentland Skyline should be fairly straightforward after that (famous last words).

After Ben Nevis I think RoS is just a wee training run :-) Good luck with that one next month, it's looks seriously hard

I fancy the skyline one day. Don’t think I’m there yet. When is it held.

Does anyone have a place for Cumbernauld 10k that they won’t be using? It’s full and they are allowing transfers but looks like it’s all on Facebook (and I’m a Facebook hater so that’s simply no use 😂)
