158 places gone already for the Falkirk 8 hour! 92 left. And just 11 solo run places for the Falkirk 50K four weeks later. Which can also be done as a cycle, which, given the variability of the route, would be a real challenge. Anyone thinking "hmm might tackle the Path of Condie HM in October" - the date has been moved and it is under two weeks! fetcheveryone.com/viewracedetails.php?id=3401297 |

What’s everyone’s thoughts on how many long runs and how far for a marathon? Kinda lost my way with a training schedule because of being on holiday. Trying to get back on track and did an 18 and two 20’s. Was thinking two more longish runs & one of them a 22. It’s meant to be a hard course. |

One of the long-standing rule of thumbs is try and make your 5 longest runs total 100 miles, so looks like your pretty much spot on track for that. Then there's the whole debate about whether long runs should be Long Slow Runs, or Progressive or a portion at predicted marathon pace, etc. In reality most plans will have a mix of the above |

great aberdeen run not carrying on after this year. shame, but obviously not getting mega numbers. combined 10k/HM set off too by the looks of things, which could be a bit interesting at the start...

The waves also appear not to all be set by predicted time- there’s a wave for people who ticked they like Aberdeen FC and a jog Scotland wave

A belated thanks to K5 Gus and HG for advice on routes - we had a grand half-day out in the Pentlands a few days ago (picked a sunny spell) with a bike/run circuit followed by a short cool-down swim in Threipmuir reservoir (where we had parked for this reason). And I also found the union canal for another run, which I hadn't previously discovered.

See you did the shorter 4R rather than the 7R in the Pents jda, used to be a regular run of mine - good to hear you enjoyed it
