21C? Positively scorching for Caithness. And Stornoway for that matter.

So much fun at black rock tonight! This was my 4th time and the water at the rock was the deepest I’ve ever seen it! Also ankle deep or deeper at bits on the way out and some very ridgy sand. Course PB by 3 mins, my Harmeny top def makes me run faster (I don’t want to be the slowest runner they’ve ever had 😂). Now a day’s rest before EMF half on Sunday.

21C again at COM. There was a breeze, but it didn't help a lot, temperature wise. Local out with his hose at 6k was my hero of the day. Nice wee cool down of the feet at Dunnet Bay on the way home - gorgeous.

I really enjoyed Edinburgh marathon yesterday. Organisation was fine. I didn't see any howlers really. Plenty water, energy stations, marshals etc. Princes St Gardens short section was very busy and could easily trip over the public sitting on the benches but no mishaps that I saw.

Zee, did I get to cheer you in your Harmeny shirt in the half as I was going out the marathon? If so, that was me shouting Go Harmeny at you! :-) G

Did Edinburgh back in 2011 and said never again. Now i’m a ‘local’ it seemed rude not to give it another whirl. Organisation was good and I too enjoyed it. It is still really the East Lothian Marathon but at least the new (to me) start in the city centre was better. If you ignore the event buses and make your own way back from Musselburgh you can easily avoid the bus carnage that a lot complain about. Nice medal and goody bag, well done EMF.

When I left the event village the queue for the public buses was hundreds of people long, and it looked like people had been waiting some time. The walk to the shuttle bus was a bit of a pain, but when I got there I hopped straight on a bus and was back in Edinburgh fairly quickly.

I haven't done the old route but I quite enjoyed the first few miles around Edinburgh. The support from the people of Edinburgh (well, Prestonpans, Musselborough etc...) was amazing, the wee kid who gave me an ice lolly at mile 23 is my new hero.

have seen a few people complaining about toilets at the start, but it seemed to me they were plentiful, just lots of blocks of a few toilets rather than a couple of big blocks.

No issues on the organisation from me. I enjoyed it on the whole- the out n back was mostly good and I enjoyed seeing the leader going past looking as if he was just out for a stroll, though it did get a bit soul destroying as I started to struggle later on. I did like that by the time you turned round and headed for home it was "only" 8 miles to go, would have really sucked if that was only half way. and the final couple of corners sucked, especially as I was measuring more like 26.5 and I missed 5 hours by a measly 14 seconds (damn you, ice lolly) so the finish line did seem to take forever to arrive!
